Björg Örvar, Í jörðu djúpt undir umferðinni bíður ófæddur skógur þögull í þúsund ár

Björg Örvar graduated from Iceland's School of Fine Arts and Crafts in 1979 and then studied art at the University of California in 1981-1983.

Björg has exhibited widely and has long been known for paintings that are difficult to define, but the connection to nature, emotions and people is evident in her abstract works.

Halldóra Kristín Thoroddsen, poet and writer,  wrote about Björg and her work:

"The naturalist painter Björg Örvar explores the essence of the matter. The smallest and the largest. Universe and particle. In a meditative state, when we sometimes perceive that deep down we are the same as our environment, a micro-story in that this big univers, built from the same material. "
