Each artwork embodies the captivating beauty of the afterlife within the digital sphere, raising questions about data's fate—whether it's passed on, kept, or misused, while also highlighting the opportunities it presents to immortalise the essence of those who've journeyed beyond.
"Digital Resurrection" invites you to reflect on the ever-shifting boundaries between the physical and digital worlds, leaving you with awareness of the lasting influence of our digital footprint and a curiosity for the lingering questions that transcend our physical existence.
 
María Guðjohnsen is an Icelandic New Media Artist / 3D generalist based in New York City. She has a MFA in Computer Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York.
She has exhibited all over the world with work that experiments with different mediums to explore the potentials of reality and virtuality. The artist’s works depict utopian speculations of potential realities, inspired by the future, Sci-fi, and computer graphics. Commercially, she has worked with brands including Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Adidas, Palace Skateboards, Jagermeister, LN-CC, One Times Square and more. Featured in I-D Magazine, It's Nice That and more.
